The Milliner's Bedchamber Cottage

Housed in a circa 1880 millinery shop, this cottage carries the style of the Victorian era. Intricately carved wood furniture, hand stenciled walls, 12 foot ceilings and hardwood floors set the scene. The centerpiece is a queen bed with a delicate lace embroidered canopy. The ensuite Victorian soaking tub sits beneath a chandelier, and the powder room is finished with an antique stained glass window.

The Happy Wanderer Cottage

Once a carriage house, now a hideaway in the style of a historic European cottage. Enter through the garden gate, follow the flagstone path to your private veranda, and settle in by the lace draped mantel. The custom built canopied bed, antique bookcases and high back chairs invite slow evenings. The bathing room pairs plaid wall coverings with vintage Scottie dog decor, an embellished shower and an antique farmhouse sink.

Schiller Strasse Parlor Suite

On the first floor of an 1850 brick row house built by a German merchant, this suite sits in what was the original parlor. Millwork, carved wood furniture, period wall coverings, German needlework and scherenschnitte paper cuttings honor the German founders of late 1800s Hermann. A carved queen four poster bed rests beneath a chandelier, with leather armchairs made for reading about the wine country adventures ahead.

Parisian Dreams Bedchamber Suite

Tucked away in the lofts on the second floor, this suite dreams in French. Carved wood furniture, a chandelier, period wall coverings, French tapestries and a built in bookcase set the stage. Tapestry armchairs make a quiet corner for daydreaming, and the carved queen four poster bed anchors the room. The bathing room pairs a shower with carved antique cabinetry and Parisian art.

Historic German Hermann

Founded by German settlers in 1837, Hermann kept its brick streets, 19th century buildings and festival calendar. Walk the historic district for shops and museums, visit the Deutschheim State Historic Site, and come back in October for Oktoberfest or in May for Maifest.
